Welcome to the club!
The Polish American Citizens Club of Akron, Ohio was established in 1921 in order to provide a place for Polish immigrants and their families to meet, to celebrate and to socialize as a community with much in common. Building on over 90 years of proudly serving the local Polish-American community, we are as committed as ever to providing a link to our heritage, as well as a communal bridge to our future. Whether providing a meeting place for families to gather and grow closer, serving up Polish dishes such as sausage, sauerkraut, pierogies and the delightful Polish pastries we all remember from our mother or grandmother’s kitchen during the holidays, or simply building camaraderie over a couple of beers and a ball game on TV, the Polish American Citizen’s Club of Akron remains for us a comfortable anchor in a world that is ever-changing.
We wish to welcome new members and members who will enjoy being active in the Club. Our Club is a wonderful facility. Situated on several acres of land right off of Route 8 at Dan Street and Glenwood, we are easily accessible from anywhere in Akron and its surrounding communities. Our building has a divisible banquet hall with a capacity for seating 150 guests comfortably, a full commercial kitchen, a bar room with a large full bar and additional seating for 60more patrons and a billiard/dart room attached to the bar room. Our Polish American ancestors built us a beautiful facility which remains fully functional and is owned by the membership free and clear. It is perfect for large family gatherings, community programs, parties, receptions, etc. We have kept the cost to rent the facility very low and it is in demand. We also have fish fries every Friday evening, which are quite popular, especially during Lent, occasional Polish dinners featuring authentic Polish food, including homemade pierogies, cooked with love from scratch by our members, as well as other special events.
Membership requirements are less restrictive than they once were and renewing a past membership does not require you to pay for the years you were not a member. Your membership and/or contribution of time, money or assistance of any kind will be greatly appreciated. If you are at all interested, please call the club at 330-253-0496 or email us for more information. Membership is only$25.00 per year and provides you full voting rights. We also offer social memberships to those who may not have any Polish heritage for only $5.00 per year, so everyone is welcome at our club. The Polish American Citizens Club of Akron is a wonderful organization with a spectacular facility. Please sign up today and encourage your family and friends to join you.
