We made 35% more Gołąbki, or Golumpki or to most of us, cabbage rolls and we still ran out. But we had plenty of Pierogi and Kielbasa. Thanks to all who attended and special thanks to all who volunteered. As with any event we learned a few things to make next year even better. New this year were the Polish beer flights where you could select 4 of the 7 Polish beers. That is a definite keeper for next year.
Before the festival started, Fr. Andrew Panek from Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cleveland lead a blessing in Polish for the festival, the volunteers and the food. Our prayers were answered and we had a full house. We had to add tables in the pool table room and on the dance floor. But we did have some dedicated polka dancers that toughed out the small space.
The parking lot was full and cars used the grassy area and neighboring business lots for parking. Thank you to Kane sign’s for your use of your lot. Basia brought Polish candies for each table along with educational tid-bits about our Polish heritage.
Check out some photos from the event.
